australia 2004

gold coast - 3 days

the weather at gold coast, brisbane was absolutely sunny while we were there. we were lucky enough to meet a guy who agreed to drive us to the theme parks that we wanted to visit, ie. movie world and dream world. the rest of the time was spent either glued to the tv in the hotel watching the last few episodes of survivor as well as american idol and the first episode of 'the apprentice'. we also did some window shopping and caught 'van helsing' at a nearby cinema. by the way, don't be fooled by the scooby doo ride in movieworld. thinking that it was a kids roller coaster, i happily pulled khian leng in. it started off nice and cheery...but the middle and end of the ride was anything but! i gripped the handrail so tightly that my wrist ached like crazy when we came out. of course, hubby teased me like crazy as well....

sydney - 5 days

we had a wonderful time in sydney. we stayed at swissotel which was located on top of myers departmental store and a nearby monorail station. with a full day monorail pass, we went everywhere! paddington village bazaar, china town (found a bubble tea shop, and a pastry shop with 'char siew' buns and egg tarts!), darling harbour, the rocks where we had absolutely delicious pancakes and pork ribs at pancake on the rocks....also caught the final episode of survivor and american idol...*grin*. the second last day was spent shopping at queen victoria building, myers, david jones where we found 3 pairs of shoes for myself, 2 pairs of shoes for him (an early anniversary pressie for him - gorgeous blue hugo boss sneakers that he refuses to wear!!), souvenirs for office colleagues, toffee, chocolates, a bustier top from the paddington market.
