About the site
The site templates were designed by Douglas Bowman, founder of Stopdesign. All templates for his lovely photo gallery are available for download here. Photos were uploaded via Photon, which is this kick-ass software that links Mac's iPhoto to Movable Type. After setting up the template, I tweaked some of the style sheet values to get the look that I want, so some of the fonts and layout is not exactly the same as what you would see on Doug Bowman's photo gallery. I also added in my self-designed logo, which was created via Adobe Photoshop CS.
About the photographer
When I first met my husband, he used to take lots and lots of photos of me using his Canon SLR camera. Quite flattering, really. Of course, he doesn't do that anymore. *pouts* Anyways, I never really had much interest in photography, preferring to be the one in front of the lens than behind. Then in December last year, I started my personal website, reflections, and bought myself a small compact camera. And surprise, surprise, I found myself getting more intrigued with the so-called art of photography. Why do some of my photos end up so underexposed? How to I get a proper light setting? I found that it was a subject that I would very much like to pursue further. So what hubby and I recently did was to sign up for a basic photography course at The Photographer's Gallery to improve our knowledge in basic photography (well, it was more of a refresher course for hubby!). If you're interested, here's a short write-up of what we learnt during the course.
While most of the photos here were taken using our two point-and-shoot compact cameras, the Canon S40 and Sony DSC-T3, I'm hoping to start building up a collection of photos taken using my latest birthday pressie from hubby ie. a Canon EOS 350D...=)
